I'm not doubting their sides of the story at all. Sounds almost exactly what I would expect a company so fast growing and based around the service industry to be run.

It does sound like one girl wasn't so much harrassed as much as she felt she was owed some money for services rendered. Then it turned to "speak to our lawyer" type exchange.

Don’t know if everyone can access this link, but Shaya says he was fired because he proactively engaged with a Times Pic reporter so the stories would be told. I can’t copy and paste the statement on his FB page on my phone.

This is something.

If your boss tells you not to do something, then you do it, you should expect to be fired.

Definitely the right move for Shaya to spin it this way.

I don't pretend to have any scoop or any clue whatsoever of what's really going on here in all of this. Nor do I have a particular "side" here (I have dined, and will probably continue to dine in all their places).

I will just say, when someone comes across as high-horsey as Shaya does in that post you cite it raises my suspicions as to their motives. He just comes across as a bit too much there.

Agreed. Apparently Alon isn't so clean in all this mess either. Something seems off with this whole situation.

So a business with 1200 employees didn't have an HR person in an executive position? I find that hard to believe.

evidently their employee management process was non standardized and easily manipulated at each restaurant. Recipe for disaster with so many employees

So much drama.

There needs to be a lifetime movie about the whole besh/shaya saga.

From all indications, it sure doesn’t look like he was involved. This is one of many similar comments. The man just got fired from his own restaurant...one where he brought in millions of revenue for the Besh group over the years.

I am not surprised that someone who charges $20 for a head of cauliflower would be rampantly accused of sexual assault.

Hopefuly HBO, so we get some good awkward, re-enactments of the sex scenes.

Someone told me that Alon was not happy with the extra/curricular crap and didn’t want to be tainted by it. Whatever

My first thought was "what a bizarre way to handle this" and second, "he sure is touting himself as a hero". I think his post was ill advised.

I don't know anything at all about any allegations of harassment etc... If this sort of thing went on and Besh and management did nothing, shame on them, but I don't know if it happened or not.

The reddit posts put Alon right in the middle of the bullshite also.

Looks like he just wasn't as much of a scumbag, had an out, and used it.

But man what a cauliflower. Easy to make at home.

If nothing else Besh's golden boy image will take a big hit and I imagine his insurance will be settling a lot of harassment claims. He will feel this one in the pocketbook.
