Seems like you may need to do some of the reading. Start with about four years ago. Maybe further back than that.

He makes delicious food. What more is there to know?

He was implying that John Besh was removed from his own restaurant group over allegations of sexual assault from over 20 women.

I agree, people should be aware of that before they spend a lot of money. Up to them whether or not it matters.

Using your link I navigated their website and the 1st three pages I clicked had some sort of Covid restrictions and warnings. They may have the best food in town and I’m glad you liked it but there’s no way I’d give them money.
They do seem authentically French for what it’s worth.

Holy shite.

That frickin' place still wants you to wear masks. Not only that but they've got rules about the how's and when's of it all.

Gautreau's used to be great for an occasion like this. I haven't been since before covid though so I don't know how it's doing these days.

Brigtsen's is a good restaurant, but I wouldn't recommend it for a special anniversary dinner.

Besh still owns his restaurants and calls the shots from above through his female “CEO”

I don’t doubt that, but it’s kind of the problem

Just ate at Miss River. Food was very good. Prices were elevated (especially the wine) but we could have gotten away ordering half the dishes and would still have been plenty full.

Highlights were crab au gratin, ribeye with mushrooms, baked Alaska. Had more but those three things were the best version I've ever eaten.

Ah, you avoid all the chefs that were accused of those misdeeds?

Because that rules out pretty much every chef in NOLA at this point.

Wonder why Besh was never charged with a crime. The whistleblower said she was kidnapped and a concubine at one point.

Do tell what other allegations you know of? I’ll avoid those too.

Nah, I'm not trying to cancel anyone.

Safe to say most male and female chefs were outed during covid with that weird little dude posting all the drama.

Gonna want to stay away from anyone that came through the Besh Group. They all fostered the environment.
