Vietnamese BIL boils his in Sunny-D, and it comes out pretty good. Not sure if he would resort to using Orange Drink.

This is as foreign to me as dumping seasoning in the outside of the crawfish.

Except that actually works if done correctly...granted most don't do it correctly.

I've seen several videos where people use those big arse plastic jugs of juice in the boil...shite one I saw had a dude use about 3 gallons of green Hawaiian punch...I don't get it and I'm pretty sure I've never ate anyone's crawfish that did that.

I like to add orange + lemon but that seems like an a lot of excess spending on all the frickin juice and the 6 kinds of seasoning.

Wait Green Hawaiian Punch?? WTH? Thats not even citrus tasting at all.
I bet that pot looked like it was filled with stagnant swamp water.
I agree with some of the comments so far, a few oranges and decent amount of citrus in the pot is not a bad thing. Also a Viet-Cajun style is pretty good tasting as well. Crawfish and Noodles in Houston serves up some tasty crawfish. But whatever the hell was in that video should be punishable by banishment to the far North.

I'd never do some weird shite like that but I ain't gon lie, I'd try it if you did it. Just out of curiosity. But to be fair, all that crap is adding plenty of unneeded cost to the boil. You can turn out great crawfish with just liquid and powdered crab boil, onions, lemons and garlic.

Dang. That's a lot of sunny d he poured in. And yes, LOL at all of this sugar water poured in a pot, massive amount of seasonings and they add the 8 ounces of pineapple juice like it is the gamechanger. I have had a lot of different style's of crawfish boils, but, this is not one of them.
