Need help picking a bourbon for my dad

I’m not a liquor drinker… but it is a tradition to grab him a bottle of bourbon for Christmas. My knowledge of bourbon is non-existent. I usually just ask the guy at the store.
He is very traditional, wouldn’t want any weird experiments with spices or fruits or anything.
He also wouldn’t want us spending over $100 on a bottle?
Any ideas?

Old Ezra 7 for sipping and a bottle of Old Grand Dad 114 for cocktails

Four Roses Small Batch Select. Easy to find and around $60 and delicious.

I'm a fan of the High West products. Many are under $100, but the best one, Midwinter's Night Dram, is probably going to be over that, if you can find it. The Rendevous Rye and the Campfire are both good, as is their bourbon.
Calumet also makes a good whiskey. There are several different kinds, but it's nice and smooth.
Milam and Greene make quality bourbon too and there should be some bottles in your price range.

Plenty of great options in that price range and you'll get a wide variety of opinions, as everyone's taste differs.
I'm partial to Woodford, Basil Hayden and Blanton's.
Oh, forgot that Four Roses mentioned above. That's nice as well.

These 8 and 9 year Pinhook's bourbon are absolutely delish and more of a classic bourbon profile and but more complex:
Martin Wine - $80
Martin Wine - $80

I like Jefferson's Ocean and it's not really expensive at around $75 -$80 a bottle. It does have a very slight salty taste, but I love salt.

Can't go wrong with Old Forester 1910, Wild Turkey Rare Breed or as someone mentioned, Elijah Craig Single Barrel. The first 2 are closer to $60, and the EC closer to $80.

Try a Widow Jane Decadence if you can find it, about $80 and really smooth. Its 10 years aged in Maple Syrup Barrels. 2nd was 4 Roses Small Single Barrell.
Went to Bourbon tasting last week and that was everyones favorite. We had Blantons, Basil Hayden, 4 Roses Single Barrel, Weller, Elijah Craig, McKenna Henry, Smoke Wagon, Knob Creek 12, Eagle Rare and Calumet. Calumet was rough.

Your dad sounds a lot like my dad. Nothing too fancy or expensive just something good without breaking the bank. It’s so limited to what you can find over here in Alabama. I would just grab a bottle of Woodford Reserve or Maker’s Mark and not overthink it. Every liquor store has those two on the shelf.

Get him a half gallon of TX. They have it at Albertsons

One of my go to's for situations like this. Very solid bourbon that is unique enough that it will be a little different than what he probably usually drinks, but not overly different.

10 year? That would be my choice for a classic bourbon too. If you could find the Wild Turkey 70 year anniversary I would get that but I think they're all gone.
