Wife and I are getting a sitter Saturday and want to try something new this weekend. Really the only requirement is somewhere we’ve never been.
Coquette, gW Fins, Galitoires, Desi’s, Mr. John’s, antoines, Irenes, Palace Cafe, Tommy’s, Mr B’s, Tableu, Shaya, Vincent’s, Ye Old, and Rizzuto’s are out.

Would love to hear some new suggestions- it’s prob been a year since we’ve been able to do this in NOLA

Make sure you get a reservation wherever you decide.

Barely got a table at Lilette Monday night and had to pass on Cavan because there was no room.

Check out Patois. Went recently and it was fantastic.

This. It had been several years since I had been. It was outstanding. The gumbo was world class. Get the duck.

The Uptown bistros have been killing it lately. Since the beginning of the year we have been to Coquette, Lilette, Gautreau’s, La Petite Grocery, Patiois and Clancy’s. All have been great.

Crepe Nanou and Mais Arepas are recent good experiences as well. Costera may have replaced Paladar as my favorite restaurant. But then there’s Marjie’s. And Saffron. Saba and Shaya. Tito’s gets overlooked.

Next project is to go through the Italian places: Avo, Vincent’s, Sophia, Gianna, Irene’s, Italian Barrel, Adolpho’s. Open to suggestions.

New Orleans may have its problems, but lack of good restaurants is not one of them,

All but Gris Gris currently have reservations online. You can call Gris Gris and see what’s available though.
