that's because it is a weed; you'd have a hard time killing it if you wanted to... . my house came with a bed of mint in the backyard; stuff has spread throughout my grass on that side of the yard. upside is that it smells great when i'm cutting over there...

That's a genetic thing that a certain portion of the population thinks cilantro tastes like soap. They can't help it.

I do love the smell of mint, but I don't care to ingest it.

Since mint rules the roost, I planted it in a separate container.

i don't use these types of seasoning mixes often but if i am, i agree with this 100%. i always keep a canister of slap ya mama around. never understood how some people can dump tony's on everything they eat.

Tony's =/= 100% salt and if you salted my food like you would use Tony's it would be horrible.

Neither do I.

And I agree w/ the Slap Ya Mama's 100% as well.

But, to say you would "absolutely would never use" seems a little pretentious, and you would be doing me a disservice if that was all they had in the kitchen was a can of Tony's and Salt n Pepper, like you do at many camps, beach condos etc and all you used was salt n pepper.

Kind of derailed the OP, but I've seen that comment made before and it irks me. Tony's isn't a bad catch all cajun spice when used in moderation. It's like the cool thing for a foodie to say they don't use it I guess.

ETA: I've eaten many a good dishes that used Tony's as the main cajun spice, and if you've done any kind of tailgating or traveling/living through S LA I'm sure you have too.

Can't think of any thing I would absolutely never use, but I don't care much for the flavor or mesquite. Never have.

I love most everything else mentioned, excluding the one smart arse post.
