Multiple New Orleans food questions.....

Going with the family for a couple days in the middle of the week. Beer will be consumed but with 2 year old going along it will not be the focus. That leaves gorging myself.
I have been to the quarter at least 10 times.
Give me some good eats?
Po-boys? Not Mothers. Already been. And it was OK.
Muffalatta? Market place is the best? No?
Red beans and rice I have concluded can be had at any hole in the wall place and they are awesome! But if any further input I will listen.
Steak places are out as I am not going to a steakhouse with a 2 year old.
Breakfast place? Not The Coffee Pot. We have been and it is awesome. We sat by the painting on the wall that has the staff in it. It is probably 20 years old and covered with dust. Every waitress was in the restaurant.
Burger place? Not Port of Call. Been there and confirmed. Just looking for another.
What are some other local "must eats" that I have just been too drunk or occupied with titties to try?
A little help. Just trying to stimulate you folks economy. New Orleans needs my money. She misses me. Like Vegas.

I'll watch with interest, as I'm taking some Yanks around midweek this week as well. Avenue Pub for certain. Poboys, you will get as many choices as people answer. If you are constrained to the FQ, Verte Mart or Johnny's are both good (I'm preparing to be slammed). Mixed reviews here, but I like the muffs at Napoleon House-lot of history and good cheap drinks. Had a great experience during the BCS weekend having brunch at Muriels-Stanley is still on my to-do list. There are some NO guru's that can help more than me, they are probably either still sleeping, or have started drinking already.

The only thing I recall with Napoleon in title is Napoleons Itch..... Not the same place.
And yes I forgot to add we will mainly stay in Quarter. We want to check out the zoo but otherwise Quarter

Po-boys, try Johnny's.
Breakfast- Stanley
Arnauds has a small restaurant attached to it that serves casual food that is supposed to be good. I think it's called Remoloude.
I like Muriel's for a little more upscale, but not a bank breaker.
There are lots of other good places to eat in the city not in the quarter if you want to venture out.

Now THAT's some diversity.
I've been to Arnaud's Remoulade several times wanting to like it, give how much I like the Mothership, and it's never been very good. I can't explain it.

Yes 2 year old limits things.
The one Italian place we went to I cannot recall name. But it was an absinthe bar way back when. Still had the absinthe dispensers on bar.

Burger place?
With the two year old it is difficult to suggest more upscale places. I would think eating somewhere like the Green Goddess is possible.

Johnny's and Central Grocery are the only answers for this.

cheese fries = R&O's

Johnny's poboys also has some really good breakfast items. Their sausage biscuit is the best sausage biscuit I have ever eaten. The biscuit is toasted on the grill with butter and is the size of a large hamburger.
