hilly cheesesteak is one of the most overrated food items out there. On paper, it all makes sense. In practice, it couldn't be more meh.

I would agree there are a lot of places that do a meh philly cheesesteak. In fact I've more often been disappointed in my decision to order one, but if you find a good one, they are the tits.

If you are saying Philly Cheese Steak there is a good chance you have never had a Cheese Steak in Philly.

What’s better about it in Philly? Better steak? Better cheese? Better peppers? Bread? Seasoning?

I have always wondered

The bread.

Imagine eating Gumbo in Philadelphia...it's probably not gonna be as good as one from New Iberia.

The quality also varies in the region. Last time I was up there I ordered a Cheese Steak and it came with sesame seeds...and it ruined it for me.

If only Louisiana had any famous sandwich styles so we could practice making good bread.

nothing, trust me. I've been to all the famous spots in Philly. None of them topped Philly Me Up or South of Philly down here.

Cheesesteaks are just meh in general. They look way better than they actually taste

Doesn’t Philly Me Up get their bread shipped from Philly?

I need to make it to Cafe Mimi and try their pho. Bao is just so much more convenient for me

Their non-Viet items are also stellar. Homemade breakfast biscuits and they load them down with bacon and cheese.

I miss their store in Denham so much. Those biscuits were the best.

I've seen these mentioned on here several times, but never had one. I work downtown. Gonna have to grab one of these some morning soon. I am a fan of their pho.
