Milk or water with baking mix?

If I’m making pancakes or brownies or something and the recipe calls for water, I always substitute milk. My GF is appalled that I do this. Am I a psychopath or does this actually make baking mixes better?

Obviously she cannot cook, so warning: not wife material.
ETA: Where the hell are the pics, tho?

Who uses water? That's terrible Kenny. Always use milk. Pancakes, oatmeal, hot chocolate, etc.

Does she get appalled when you substitute stock instead of water when cooking? Maybe she only knows how to blindly follow directions on a box and not actually cook. Or maybe she just hates flavor. Is she from the north?

I had a heated argument once with my ex about this very thing. I use milk for my oatmeal, not water. She is from the North so what do you expect.

I use milk and sometimes, use butter instead of oil for baking.

Depends.
If you are doing a premix then adding milk will frick up the blend. They use powdered (dehydrated) milk/eggs and you are just rehydrating.
If it is a recipe then I have no idea why it is calling for water instead of milk.
Alton Brown told how when mix packs came out all you needed was to add water, but housewives were so sure that the companies were wrong they added milk and eggs anyway and then bitched about the mixtures. So the companies then added instructions to include adding and egg and some oil so the little ladies felt like they were cooking.

Nah. I use buttermilk instead of water to my “just add water” pancake mix and my pancakes are divine. The ratio may be a little different, but who measures that shite anyway?
