I’ve only been once but I really liked it... just had drinks though, didn’t try any of the food

Check it out. I've never had any of the food, but the place is really nice. They did a great job with the design and build-out. The beer menu was kinda meh at first (i.e. not up to the standard of a place that calls itself a "beer garden"), but it has improved and is now worthy IMO.

Parking can be tough, but other than that, it’s a great place to hang out.

225 Best Eats had a special a couple of weeks ago for mid city. I think it was $18 for $30 or something like that.

Grilled cheese/soup is indeed exactly like Chelsea’s

Beer lineup was kind of underwhelming. Not much you couldn’t get at Bulldog

Yep exactly. Only interesting stuff was a couple of limited releases from Parish. Would love to see more out of state breweries represented.

They still have a way to go, but the selection is better than Bulldog IMO. It is much better than when they first opened.

Bulldog has gone waaaaaay down in their draft selection. Glad to hear that the beer garden has improved

Funny because I think Bulldog has gotten better. They used to carry really random beers from other countries that would sit on the wall for months because nobody was familiar with it. Now, they have all the big local releases.

That's biased though because I pretty much only do IPAs and enjoy all the local ones that come out.

No kids allowed. 21 and up only.

Went last night and they had food from the lunch menu available. I had the lamb burger which was excellent, someone else had shrimp quesadillas, and we ordered grilled cheese and the pretzels. Pretzels are freshly made and probably my favorite thing on the menu. The drink selection was better than the last time we went.

Agreed. Bad selection, Olive kills them wit their new menu. Dave doesn’t seem interested in the beer side to any extent. To be fair there aren’t enough beer geeks left to give a shite. I’m sure he saw how corporate went down lots of effort for not much return.

Been wanting to go check them out but will likely have to wait till after the holidays. Are dogs allowed?

Yep, dogs are allowed except for "inside" at the bar area. Like, I said, went on Friday and was impressed with their beer selection. Really one of the things that surprised me was seeing all of the different Southern Craft beers.

Pretty sure you are thinking of Mid Tap. I buy 225s frequently and have never seen one for the Beer Garden.

Why would Southern Craft beers surprise you?
