They're a fast food burger joint. They make a ton of money selling cheap fast food. I don't think coming up with new meals is necessary for what they are. People who eat there aren't looking for new and exciting options.

Here you go – how the McRib is made.

Nothing, that’s just the way they’ve always marketed them. If you like mystery meat pressed together in the shape of a mini rib rack, have at it.

It is all about the sauce slathered on it, no one gives a shite about the meat paste.

It's like the Aggies. For only one month per year, they're back...

Who doesn't love pre-chewed pork in BBQ sauce?

Tried it once.

Will never have it again, nor anything from MickeyDs unless I can’t go 48 hours without eating.

Was involved in manufacturing of the sauce.

It’s a joke among R+d folks who worked on the formula. On a typical BBQ sauce of given batch size, we would add 7 gallons or so of liquid smoke.

McRib? 166 gallons. With all kinds of seasoning. Eliminates the issue of keeping meat consistent if you throw a sauce so strong you taste nothing else lol.

Neither have I. Haven't had a Big Mac since the late 80's and have never eaten a 'chicken nugget' from MCD's. Other than an egg mcmuffin and breakfast burrito on occasion, I couldn't tell you the last time I've eaten a hamburger from MCD's. Probably some time in the early 90's while I was at LSU.

McRib is a study in excellent marketing. Create false scarcity and a loyal fanbase, with accompanying hoopla to give your restaurant free pub… like this thread.

And the Big Mac is still one of my guilty pleasures.
