Is this true fast-food BDers?

Eater

In a stunning blind taste test of biscuits from six fast food restaurants, Washington Post tasters ranked hometown favorite Popeyes biscuits just third. McDonald’s, in a move that even surprised the judges, came in first. Oddly, one tester ranked McDonald’s so high because it was reminiscent Popeyes, “which is the gold standard.”

James Beard Award-nominated pastry chef and co-founder of Willa Jean, Chef Kelly Fields, who once professed that Popeyes biscuits are a religion of their own, reacted to the news, telling Eater New Orleans, “FAKE NEWS! SAD! I'll be honest, I've only had a McDonald's biscuit twice in my life. That's all I'll ever need.”

The biscuits rated, in order from worst to best, came from Burger King, Bojangles, KFC, Popeyes, Chick-fil-A, and McDonald’s. The Popeyes biscuit was the “most traditional biscuit.” It was described as salty, buttery, and possessing a raw taste.

On the other hand, McDonald’s was “soft, flaky, buttery.” But it was also “like swallowing a huge lump of dense bread. I want a bunch of water after eating this,” said one dissenter.

“If we’re talking fast food biscuits then Popeyes’ are the best! Here’s the deal with any chain biscuit — they have to be eaten immediately. No reheating, no waiting. Eat them in the car if you have to. Dip them in your mashed potatoes,” Chef Isaac Toups, of Toups Meatery and Toups South, told Eater New Orleans.

Last place went to the biscuit from Burger King, which tasted “like lies.”

Maybe it's a typo and they meant to say a "blonde" taste test.

Popeyes biscuits were amazing before they went to the packaged frozen kind 20 years ago.

I agree. The Popeyes biscuits from the 80’s could bring peace to the Middle East.

What-a-burger biscuits are legit also.

You could also squeeze one with your fist and a stick of butter would come pouring out. Absolutely delicious, but the calorie count was astronomical.

Popeyes food quality has substantially declined over the last five years. The biscuits have followed suit. I still like the spicy chicken but the sides are not what they once were.

I’m thinking about heading over to Popeyes over the weekend and trying that Ghost Pepper wing deal.

Wash them down with a DDH Ghost. I’m off the fast food and only clear booze for the next couple months.

Does anyone actually finish a McDonalds biscuit?
If I order a sausage biscuit, I’ll get about halfway through before I just finish the sausage and throw the rest away.

Popeyes biscuits I’ll eat two with a 3 piece.

Popeyes switched to frozen biscuits so it’s not surprising. They definitely aren’t near as good as they used to be. The taste is similar but it has a different texture/consistency

In all honesty the chicken is screaming downhill on greased skids as well. very underwhelmed the last few times I went.

And Whataburger kills all of them. McD's have no crust, too soft, crumble when you try to eat them.
