A not so subtle brag thread, but I'm really looking forward to this meal.

Woke up at 3:45 this morning and was able to get a reservation at Osteria Francescana for our trip to Italy in September. They book all their reservations 3 months in advance, so on June 1st they open all September reservations.

If you've seen Chef's Table, it's the restaurant covered in the first episode of the first season. It was rated the #1 restaurant in the world in 2016.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll be downvoted into oblivion but I have been anxious about getting this reservation for a while and it feels great knowing it's booked!

Well it's hard to say right now. I looked at their current menu this morning, but odds are it won't be the same whenever we get there in September.

I can tell you that I'd love to do the 12 course tasting menu, but if they don't have the three things he's most famous for (the Tortellini, the Parmagiano Reggiano 5 Ways, and the Oops! I Dropped The Lemon Tart), which they currently aren't, I may have to go a la carte.

Here's the current menu:

What do you even eat a place like this? I feel like I would be so in over my head and have a nervous breakdown

ETA: I see you posted a menu, I'll peruse that

how about just a review ... i'm sure the patrons around you would prefer not to be interrupted by the glowing screen of your phone. So trashy.

Actually many reviews I’ve read say that Chef Massimo encourages it. He also comes to every table on the nights he is working to greet guests and take photos with them. Otherwise I’d agree with you.

I’m just being a jackass.

In all seriousness, I’m looking forward to his reviews.

I felt the same way trying to book the Master Executive Chef multicourse dinner and tour on our last Carnival Cruise. As luck would have it, we were one of the select 14. Bone ape tit

Didn’t Paul Allen and S say they were going there that night, too?

I thought they did. I don’t know.

You order the tasting menu. If you go in with an open mind, a high end tasting menu can change how you think about food.

That's exciting. Hopefully I'll get to make it there one day as well.
