Mandeville/Covington will have lots of options. If you're through Red Stick at 11AM then you'll be on the Northshore just after noon.

Some options to consider:
- Morton's in Madisonville. Good restaurant and right on the Tchefuncte
- Can also recommend Chimes, Rusty Pelican, or Half-Shell in Mandeville/Covington.
- Slidell gets a lot of (mostly undeserved) hate on here but Kenneys, Pecks, or Southside are all great lunch options.

Bonus Feature: The next test firing of Artemis is scheduled for 4PM Thursday at StennisSpace Center. If your schedule allows, stop off at the MS Welcome Ctr and enjoy the staccato thunder!

Ok then, stop at Ronnie’s in Hammond and get a cracklin and boudin ball snack before driving onto BSL for lunch at TBT...then drive the coast over.

shite.

Sure looks like things funnel through Alec...if you’re in Alec and going to BR...that’s the fastest way.

Up until they built bridges across the Mississippi River you may have been right. Now not so much. Go to Natchez and head south

Fair enough.

But on the rebound he should stop off in Krotz Springs and load up a cooler with Billy's and Kartchners.

Don't make a rookie mistake and miss out.

I'll give a few spots based on location at time hungry:

St Fran (this would be early for you I think and you would have to come down 61):
The Francis
Magnolia Cafe
South of the Border (near LA/MS line)

Baton Rouge:
Ichiban
Portbellos Bocage
Stockyard Cafe

Hammond:
Tope La

Gulfport: Shaggy's

Bilox:
Blind Tiger
Patio 44

frick these cocksuckers. They're the ONLY restaurant on the Northshore that demands masks to enter. I refuse to give these communist sheep another dollar that I produce.

If OP is getting to BR at 11, he will be hungry as a bitch wolf by the time he gets here with the current clusterfrick that is I-12. I'm basing this on my personal schedule of starting my day NLT 4:45am each morning. By 11:30am, if I'm not headed to eat I'm one angry Sonofabitch in a situation outside of my control.

I will be at Barley Oak tomorrow from 11:30 to 4 sitting on the balcony working remotely enjoying the view of the lake, drinking copious pilsners with the married soccer moms of the NS. Brisket tacos are a hit on Fridays.

Northshore Empress shits all over TY. John runs a very tight ship. Excellent cuisine.

They do piss in your fried rice if they suspect you're a liberal, fwiw.

I did. I actually left a little earlier than anticipated and ate lunch at Blind Tiger when I arrived in Biloxi. It was really good.

I also saw your recommendation about stopping in Krotz Springs. That's a given. I never pass through there without bringing a cooler to stock up.
