That sounds absolutely miserable

Crustless pizza bowls

Preheat oven to 375

1 jar Sugarfree or low sugar marinara sauce
1 pack mini pepperoni (hormel)
1 lb browned italian sausage
1 sliced bell pepper
black olives
sliced mushrooms
shredded mozzarella
Pizza seasoning (Oak Point brand is what I have)
pack of aluminum mini pie pans

layer sauce, toppins, cheese, seasoning. Finish off making cheese and seasomning as the final layer. Bake 10-12 minutes and then cook on HI broil for 2-3 mintes to get cheese bubbly. Let cool off and eat.

Check out Lily's baking chips for sweet tooth ideas. My wife uses them for me along with almond flour for my desserts and they taste pretty good.

Wife made Keto ravioli with a think layer of baked mozzarella as the shell. Made a stuffing with rotisserie chicken, cream & parmesan cheese, and pesto. Was damn delicious!

Which reminds me, pork egg rolls!

Egg roll in a bowl is a popular low carb dish, with several variations. Brown a pound of ground pork, add a bag of cabbage slaw and cook till tender, adding a tbs or two of soy sauce, finishing with sesame oil. A good meal all on its own.

But maybe you have some leftover. Use either Cut da Carb flatbread or some other low carb flatbread as egg roll wrappers. Wrap, brown, dip in G Hughes Sweet Chili Sauce. So good!

Cracklins are a good no carb snack. Pickles have no carbs. Bacon, bacon, bacon

I get that this is low carb but I don’t think this is going to help with weight loss.

It does help with weight loss if you eat in a caloric deficit.

The only thing that matters is that calories in are less than calories out.

I wouldn't say it's the ONLY thing that matters, but it's definitely a major factor.

It absolutely can though. You're much more satiated with foods like that, and you're not subject to the blood sugar spikes that can result from eating too many simple carbs, which can in turn trigger the hunger response.

When you eat, monitoring macros, etc. I'm not saying you're wrong, because less calories in compared to calories out is the name of the game, but there are other things that can help.

A DIPA can have around 350 calories in a can, while a half pound piece of salmon is around 400 calories, for example. Not that anyone is having a DIPA for lunch.

If you intermittently fast and count your macros/eat a "proper" balance of macros, but consume more calories than you burn, you will gain weight.

Calories in < Calories out, you will lose weight.

1000 percent the only things that matters are calories and protein. Absolutely nothing else.

Everything else is just a strategy to stay compliant. Period.

russell stover has some great sweets that use natural stevia instead of shitty aspartame or sucralose.

chocolate covered peanuts are my spirit animal.

grab the dreamfields pasta. loaded with prebiotics and doesn't spike your blood sugar so its a great low carb treat when you're craving pasta. i make crawfish monica with the rotini all the time.

quote:

Dreamfields Pasta protects all but 5 grams of carbs per serving. As a result, blood glucose levels do not rise as much as when you consume traditional pasta products. Dreamfields also contains a natural prebiotic fiber called inulin. The same natural fiber is found in foods such as raisins, garlic and asparagus. Prebiotics support a healthy immune system, better digestion and help your body absorb calcium. Besides satisfying your palate, you’re doing healthy things for your body when you eat Dreamfields Pasta.

there are 2 or 3 types of low carb tortillas now. these are MONEY for making a breakfast burrito or quesidalla.

keto bread is now available in almost every store. great for grilled cheese. i picked up some cinnamon keto bread the other day and its yummy.

a protein milkshake is great in a pinch. 2 eggs, vanilla extract, crushed ice and heavy cream in a blender. surprisingly its the texture and taste of a regular milk shake if the raw eggs don't scare you away.

costco is chok full of keto stuff. lots of sweets.

some really good low carb yogurt out there now. nosa? there are several.

also there is sugar free whipped cream that's great.

Yea this is true. I guess I should have worded it differently. It’s def not good for cholesterol and blood pressure and all that I would think.

I'm not sure how those would adversely affect blood pressure. Also, cholesterol is a touchy subject. Much of the dominant thinking about it (i.e., that it's bad in and of itself) is outdated.

Whey protein instead of flour for the breading.

Darla - Could you walk us through the tortilla flatbread? Namely the shrimp.

I was thinking of doing flatbread, cheese, red pepper flakes, chopped sun dried tomatoes, shrimp, basil, and balsamic glaze.

I use Xtreme Wellness tortillas, which are somewhat thin. Do you typically bake the tortilla first to firm it up, and then put cheese/toppings and bake again? How do you cook the shrimp?

Thank you!
