wrong. The Parish taproom experience is dismal at best.

Even if you factor in overall atmosphere?

Parish makes delicious beer, but I'd rather buy it and take it home to drink. Meanwhile, a place like Bayou Teche is actually enjoyable to sit back and drink at.

but that POS Scott is a different breed. He openly supports Antifa. If that's where you want to spend your money that's your business but just know whom you're supporting when you walk in his joint.

FWIW I enjoy that my liberal breweries just shut up and brew. We don't care about your opinion, just brew.

This. Scott is at outward douche and has made several posts that on Courtyard's and his social media page that are antagonistic to anyone with differing viewpoints. If you have a different view, fine. I don't care if you are liberal. That's your decision. But, when you start beating everyone over the head with your idiocy, and if you are an open advocate for ANTIFA, then you deserve every bit of karma that comes to you.

I went once on a Sunday and Bayou Teche is now one of my favorite brewpubs. The atmosphere makes it #1 in my book. Parish has no atmosphere. Yes they make good beer, and that is important, but if Teche teaches you one thing, it's that you don't have to make the best beer in the state, to have one of the best brewery experiences in the state.

Oh, that's just the more recent stuff. You should check out his Kehoe-France meltdown.

Antifa and the biggest cheerleader for the Governor and Mayor that have spent the last 8 months doing their best to bankrupt him. Besides having a shitty venue. No thank you.

Does not compute. Courtyard has hands down the worst atmosphere of any brewery I've ever been to. Shitty chairs in a driveway does not equal a cool atmosphere.

It definitely lacks compared to others

FWIW- they’ve been renovating their taproom during Covid and just reopened it. I don’t think they actually expanded it though so

(I know it’s more than just the facility that goes into the atmosphere)

I don’t like ranking the breweries based on ambiance, because some of the brewers who make crappy beer have fun tap rooms.

Favorite ambiance:
1. Urban South
2. Tin Roof
3. Abita
4. All Relation (not der no mo)
5. Courtyard
6. Rally Cap
7. NOLA
8. Wayward Owl (not der no mo)
9. Breaux Carre
10. Gilla
11. Southern Craft

Ranked by beer
1. Gilla
2. All Relation

3. Urban South
4. Rally Cap
5. Courtyard
6. Abita
7. Nola
8. Wayward Owl
9. Tin Roof
10. Breaux Carre
11. Southern Craft

I obviously still have a lot of breweries to visit, especially Teche, Parish, Istrouma, Cypress Coast, Gnarly Barly, Port Orleans, Zony Mash, Parleaux, Meil, La Chien (when it finally opens), and Old Rail

Cypress Coast

I'm going to try to go there this weekend. The beers they brew are right up my alley. They posted on social media, adding some spruce tips for an old ale that will age. I'm assuming this will be released around Christmas.

The one old ale I had one time was fantastic and came from the guy at La Chien.

Most of their beer is above reproach. When I lived in Broussard I was 5 minutes away from Parish and would drive either to Cajun (RIP) or Bayou Teche because the Parish taproom vibes are shite.

I’m pretty sure that was Le Chein that posted that

You should talk with him about his opinions. He’s a nice guy and I’ve always enjoyed our conversations. Plus his beer and staff are great

Port Orleans may not have great beer but their place is pretty cool I think. And I like the beer from Urban South and Gnarly Barley but I don't find the places anything special at all.

Oh I’ve talked with him plenty. He IS less of an insufferable douche in person, but his support for DumBell and DeStroya and horrible case of TDS that he repeatedly blasted out over social media put him permanently on the do not fly list. And constantly criticizing the employers of many of your paying customers seems pretty tone deaf for a business owner. Too many other places turning out good beers in South Louisiana to put up with that crap.

I wasn't aware brewery rankings were based solely on the ability to make the same haze beer with different names and fruit kettle sours and serve them in a stale taproom.
