BTW the other addition to me never going back was the Little Village "Amy's Bakery" poster that came on this site. Completly turned me off on the place while I was defending the place in the same thread.

I was thinking about that thread and the owner's behavior on this site when I saw the Amy's Bakery Facebook page.

Is that right? Restaurants are serving Tilapia? I though it was only passing through the Walmart isles in massive frozen bags.

It is not tilapia. His $40 fish special was swordfish.

Was delicious.

Wasn't worth $40.

Wasn't tilapia.

In my experiences the 40 dollar fish was something like Seabass or the like. That you could sub in for something like Tilapia and the price was lowered to 20 something. Still too much IMO.

No that person made an appearance in 2011. TheLittleVillage was the person's username. I mean no where near on the level of that crazy bitch in AZ. They were even polite here. But it was very odd for a non-sponser of TD to make that exchange here.

Last time I went about 6 months ago the fish special was tilapia. I have no idea what the price was.

Order the spaghetti & meatballs, very tasty.. But stop at a Subway on the way there and buy a loaf of Italian Herb & Cheese bread for sopping the sauce...LV's bread is a big pile of expensive oily nastiness in my opinion.

That's what I do on to-go orders...I love LV's red sauce.

I love their red sauce too. I don't know if you're joking or not, but I really do.

Not joking...Their red sauce is my fav. The LV bread though is overkill.

eta: i was joking about bringing the bread in, but not on to-go orders. there's a Subway in the same center on airline hwy as LV...tis easy.

if my father were alive, he'd bring his own bread in without caring. i took him to piccadilly on many occasions because he liked their seafood gumbo. and once as we were sitting to eat our meal, he pulls a hamburger patty out of his pocket that was wrapped in aluminum foil. he said he didn't like piccadilly's patties so he brought his own.

apple doesn't fall far from the tree...so i'm sure i'll be doing the same one day.

I used to knight their steaks. We used to go often. Like really often. Service has never been good, imo....and we have eaten there alot.

All that to say, we probably havent been in several months (other than to take out bread to serve with a home cooked meal, lol). The price changes had nothing to do with my decline in visit frequency.....was just plain ole quality.

I deal with bad service if the food is good. You will get me to agree that the product they are selling is not what it was several years ago.

For steaks in Baton Rouge now - I am heading to Ruffinos for a 45 day dry aged ribeye or to Flemings for a bone-in filet. Italian? I dig Ginos & DiGulio Bros. Ruffinos can fit that too.
