Where exactly is he lacking in talent?
He got good reviews from way back when he was still a chef.
Seems like his books sales were pretty damn good.
His tv shows have always done well.

of course not. too smoky. they don't serve food (not counting the overrated & oversalted TL). their beer selection is minimal. the regulars are too possessive of the bar.

TL is the only reason why I go there. Sometimes I don't even go inside.

Only reason I go is if my group of friends insists on going and I don't have any other options. I'll say it's not my least favorite bar in the city, but I never seek it out.

What do you get from TL? The couple times I ate it I had to throw it away because it was so salty.

I mostly get the chicken unless there is a special or soup. They seem to go overboard with the seasoning on the meats and toppings so I can understand the too salty comment. Good beer drinking food.

So you're saying Kingpin wouldn't be top of your list of places to go if you need to kill some time on a layover.

I have to beg to differ on the beer selection. I would hardly say it's minimal. It's not Avenue Pub but they have more than BMC and Abita. It's a lot better than some other frequented bars in the area IMO.

I'm responsible for getting Canebrake at Kingpin. Rendezvous too for that matter. Just ask Sarah.

I agree most of the bars in that neighborhood have shitty beer selections.

In-game thread: so far, not so bad. He did butcher the pronunciation of Atchafalaya.
