Are you set on solid wood block?
If not, the Epicurean line is nice. It’s a wood composite. Like wood blocks, good for your nice knives, but you can toss it in the dishwasher. I like mine. Easier to store and maintain.
However a nice Boos Block is quite sexy.

I have that one
It’s at least 20 years old and looking good
I’ll probably have to put it in my will

Well that sucks. For the prices NOLA Boards charges, you'd think it would be sturdier.
A zillion years ago, I bought one from Greg Arceneaux, a furniture maker on the Northshore. It's maple, pecan, walnut, etc. Still going strong, despite years of use.

I made one and used titebond 2, should have used 3..... it split at a couple of the glue seams. I do want to make another one though

Have you ever used Ecopoxy? Supposedly a food safe, eco friendly epoxy. I haven't tried it myself.

Ive seen a lot of debate online about which to use... I went ahead and used 3.

Rat, I have one of those boards, too....bought it from Fante's in Philly, but I'd never use it as a cutting board, only for pastry. Mainly because it's so damn big I'd have to take it outside to scrub.
