It's official: Lafayette is the tastiest town in the south. Southern Living magazine held its Tastiest Town competition and, in the end, Lafayette managed to garner almost 200,000 votes to take the contest.

Baltimore was robbed. When I think tasty southern food, I always think of Baltimore.

I love a trip to Laffy, but New Orleans is the undeniable winner if we are including cities in the contest, and it looks like they did.

No one said Lafayette is better than New Orleans but after NO it's the best

Apparently the people who voted for Lafayette were saying that, even though 98% of them knew that it wasn't true. Lafayette is a good food city, but it's not the second best in the entire south. There are just too many other larger cities that offer a lot more variety. Unique and good cuisine, no doubt though.

Was NO in the contest? Who won the contest? Now tell me what's incorrect about your statement.

Was New Orleans part of this "contest?"

Because if so, that's exactly what they said.

The two towns battled it out for the duration of the competition, each gaining tens of thousands of votes that dwarfed the eight other towns' totals, including the votes for New Orleans.

I can't put any stock into an election that has Lafayette with more votes than Houston and New Orleans combined

Particularly when both are legit top 5 food destinations in the country.

Lafayette has a lot of really good places to eat, but that doesn't make it first or second in the south. I really like Lafayette, though.
