Korean restaurants in BR

Need some history for those who have lived here a long time.
Have there ever been any Korean restaurants here? If so, I assume it just didn’t do well with the locals here. Do you think there’s a better market for it now especially if geared towards BBQ?

I don’t think so. For years, I think, the Korea House in Fat City was the only one in the state. Even they had to double as a sushi bar for some time.

Lafayette, Northshore, BR and NOLA seem to have never been a place for Korean food for some reason.

I would spend all of my money at a Korean fried chicken place.

They serve Korean short ribs at Ava Street Cafe in BR, but I think that's the closest.

There was a North Korean place off of Florida but it closed. Menu was sparse

Bossier City had a good Korean place in the mid 1990s south of town on Hwy 71. Now there is Kabuki on Airline. It has bibimbap, bulgogi, etc., but also sushi and rolls. Not aware of any others in NW La.

A Korean place would kill it in Baton Rouge. Between the universities, the hospitals and the petrochemical plants, you would think there would be enough Koreans to support it

I'm a big whitey. I'd do my part to help support it and destroy some bibimbap and bulgogi if we had a Korean place.

I wish there was.
You can get a little bit of Korean BBQ at The Cove on Jefferson. It's actually a Hawaiian place but they do serve bulgogi beef and chicken, and Korean short ribs. It's pretty good food, too. Their menu is online. But a fun, sit-down Korean BBQ place is sorely missed. It's highlighted by our plethora of good Vietnamese and Chinese food.

I don’t think I’ve ever met a Korean in this area.

Oh, they're out there. I've seen more than one Korean church van.
Baton Rouge doesn't want for Koreans, though they're not nearly as big a population as the Viet population here in town. We want for one of them to open up a place to eat delicious Korean food.

Weird downvotes in thread with people just answering the question.
