Yeah it has a taste. It kind of tastes like watered down worcestershire sauce with a hint of chemical weirdness. It's pretty nasty. Use it at your peril.

I find it has a bit of a burnt taste, of course that is tasting it straight from the bottle, so that may be why.

It's an ingredient in Prejean's Pheasant, Quail and Andouille Gumbo, one of the best gumbos out there.

My son likes gravy dark. If for some reason it doesn't look the way I know he likes it, I cheat and add Kitchen Bouquet.

I hardly use it anymore. Yay for grown kids who live on their own!

Never understood big deal.
Is just burnt sugar, I always have some on hand but I rarely ever use it.

I mainly use it to darken the gravy. I lean toward yah but it's not a necessity to have.
