Did yall read the part about him shoving a spoon with oysters down a servers throat at a party? It would take every ounce of restraint to not slap him if it were me. I would have quit right then and there. And whoever the guy was making comments about wanting to drink some girl's breast milk....wtf

Eta: i was sexually harassed a lot when i was in college working at a bar but it was nothing compared to these weinstein and besh restaurant stories.

My wife worked at the Chimes all through college and she has a hard time with this. She chuckled and said getting cornered in the freezer and being felt up against your will is harassment, sleeping with the boss isn't. That statement scared me a bit, but I managed a chuckle too.

I imagine those saying they won't eat in his restaurants again are referring to the sexual assault and mistreatment of employees - not that someone "sinned" in general. We all sin, yes. We don't all sexually assault people.

Has it been proven that Besh himself sexually assaulted anyone? Has it been proven that anyone assaulted anyone? I've read a lot of allegations, so far. Bad allegations.

The only thing we know for sure is that Besh had an extra marital relationship with one of his employees. I think that's the "sinning" the poster was referring to.

It's not always that simple in the world of harassment and EEOC claims.

Gris, did I read that the lady who had the affair was harassed for a long time and finally gave in to Besh's pressure. She kept up her side of the affair for some time and when she insisted they break it off, he asked her to find him a substitute for her if she was going to break it off.

Kind of scuzzy if true.

Feel sorry for his wife and kids.

I have not a single clue. I was more referring to the notion of someone boycotting a business for saying goddamnit or whatever other sins there are out there

Besh supposedly did this? Seems like people would have seen similar behavior if true. I’m sure it will come out if so.

He said in the article he did it. Said he does it all the time.

Man people need to click on links and read prior to commenting on subjects.

I have no idea what all is out there or what's fact or fiction other than what Besh admitted.

If many of the allegations are true, there was a lot of scuzziness going on.

Wasn’t he supposed to be opening a new restaurant in a Houston sometime next year? Will that be affected?

For those familiar with One Off Hospitality in Chicago (Publican, Blackbird, Big Star, etc)... they just fired the Executive Chef of the 5 Publican brands (Cosmo Goss) and the GM of Publican Anker for not reporting a sexual harassment issue appropriately..

Was that in that mile long article? I only read about 1/3 of it.

However if he had done that to me he would have wished he hadn’t.

There has been many links posted with several different articles but I never read that part. The link this thread was started with doesn’t state that. It’s hard to read everything that is posted on the internet.

I don't work for Besh, I have no idea. I thought that was the allegations? If that is in fact what the allegations are, I understand someone choosing to boycott.

I saw the Catholic reference, but I didn't take his post to mean he won't patronize any business where someone sins
