Like staring at fast food or restaurant coupons I get in the mail for long periods of time.

Occasionally ill even create an order on-line just for fun then empty the cart.

Is this normal?

I mean at some point you are going to have to incorporate a god damn carb or 2 in your diet. If not any time you eat a piece of bread your body is going to freak out.

I understand going hard keto for a bit but you need to eventually move to just a low carb diet and not freak out if you arent totally keto.

Yeah, I did it for a month to shock the system and lose a few. It worked, but I couldn't sustain it long term. I love beer, pizza and pasta too much. Now I am just trying to watch the carbs.

I will say that if you stick to the keto diet for a few weeks you will definitely lose pounds.

If you completely cut out an entire food group you’re going to eventually break.

Man, we're on the Food board and talking about not eating food.

Cheeseburgers
Pizza
Ribs and fixings
Tacos
Pasta

You can’t deprive yourself of anything. Everything in moderation will get you where you need to be and you’ll get there happy and with a smile. :)

At our house, we have been on keto for 4 months now. 90+ percent of days are absolutely normal. Then (especially late at night) a pizza commercial will come on the TV and I will go almost bonkers. However I have had no bread at all since starting. also no rice no potatoes, virtually no other starch, all of which made up a large part of my diet. The agreement the wife and I made was that we were not on a diet, but making a lifestyle change.

Regarding your diet, can you do it/stay on it? Absolutely yes. Thousands of people have adopted the keto lifestyle and you can too. There are thousands of great recipes you can make that folks who do not eat keto would think were very good eating.

Good luck. As for me, the temptations are still there, but I feel so much better eating the way we are that I pull through those starch cravings.

Good luck.

A brief check into the FBD will show that we're not drinking Ultras regularly. These damn hazy IPAs are my vice. I love good beer too much.

Pizza and beer are my Achilles heel. I can live without pasta, rice, and potatoes. Never been a big fan of totally eliminating anything from the diet except refined sugar.

welcome.

pick up some powdered erithyorol and make meridian dog's cheesecake recipe. that will kill most of the dessert cravings.

i got used to food being nothing more than fuel so i had no problem making hamburger patties constantly for dinner and eating nothing else. sounds awful (especially for foodies on this board) but its not forever and it will fill you up quickly.

keep your eye on the ball; eat boring crap now so the weight comes off faster then you can transition into a more normal eating routine later on.

dont get too fancy with all the 'carb friendly' shite at grocery stores because then you get too dependent on stuff that may or may not stunt your weight loss progress.

if you liked dave's bread in the past, try the 0-carb bread at aldis. there's a review on youtube "serious keto" or soemthing like that where he does blood sugar testing every 15 minutes after consuming different 'carb friendly' items and this bread showed virtually no spike.

you can definitely taste the 'fakeness' though.

costco bread is better. the '2 pack' low carb bread is much more spongey and real but i think its got 4-5 carbs per slice.

You think that's hard? Wait until your doctor tells you to limit your sodium to 1500 mg a day.

I lost close to 50 lbs in the spring doing hardcore keto. However there was a week in late April that I broke down and ate an entire package of tollhouse cookie dough.

rebel ice cream. you can eat a pint of cookie dough ice cream and its only 4 carbs total.

pricey..but i just keep it around for a binge now & then when i'm going crazy for something sweet.

makes you feel almost as guilty as tearing up a package of cookie dough.
