I think I'm going to give this a try because it fits my budget and I love the idea of having 6 burners and knobs that are out of the way.
Now I need to find someone who can cut corian. Not sure I want to tackle the installation. Need to watch a few YouTube videos first.

If you are in the BRLA area, you are welcome to try mine out before you buy.

thanks
i'm actually up in nashville so that probably wont happen.
online reviews are very favorable. you have any pics of your install?
did you do it yourself or have someone install it?
its a little odd that i *CANT* find a negative review of this anywhere. i guess people like them.

Far easier to swap the current cook top for gas but then again I'm not known for doing things the easy way.
Last question.. Those who have rangetops.. I'm reading the hood should be 6" bigger than the range.. So a 30" range would use a 36" hood and a36" range would require 42" hood.
Is that correct?

Standard carbide woodworking tools will cut Corian with no problems.

OG answered a text at midnight? That's about 5 hours past his bedtime. I'm going to have to try that and see if he answers.

Both of y'all goobers leave me alone after dark 30!
I was headed to camp at 3:30 am, and it was only a couple hours away.
I told him to get a foot long weeny dog at sonic, take 2 aspirins, go to bed and leave me the hayul alone.
"Technically I TEXTED you"
Oh, that's why you didn't answer when I was hollerin' hello in to my phone!

I'll text you tonight, OG. It'll be long after midnight, though.

Ok, I've made a decision
Due to additional expenses with getting this older house 'up and running' I've had to look for ways to cut costs on this. Instead of cutting the counters and opting for a rangetop, I'm going to simply run a LP line into the house and replace the existing 30" electric and hood and leave the cabinets in place for now (just cutting a hole into the roof for external venting). Here's what I've decided to go with:
Dacor 30" Gas Cooktop
Broan 6400 Series Range Hood
Here's where these are going in:

Glad you reached a decision. You've spent a lot of time on it and consideration.
Is that a 5 burner deal? I don't understand the one middle burner, but I'm far from an expert on these things. I only know about mine and I wasn't getting anything without a gas grill, so I was pretty limited. Is the middle burner a high powered burner?
