Is there one bread that’s better than the others for bread pudding?

Find a decent quality true French bread. Last bread pudding I used Reising's. I let it air out and stale, turned out great.

Whatever bread Olde Tyme uses on their poboys has to be great! If you can find some loaves, let them dry out/stale, you’d have perfect bread pudding bread!

Stale or oven dried.

Then from there the options are endless.

I've made sweet bread puddings with everything from baguette, ciabatta, buttery eggy breads like challah & brioche, banana nut bread, Krispy Kreme donuts, croissant, cinnamon rolls & savory ones out of focaccia, cornbread, & biscuits.

We don't get donuts that often, but I've NEVER seen day old donuts in my household.

I prefer to use stale, hard arse French bread for my bread pudding base----and real French bread, not that thick arse doughy stuff many stores sell.
