Of all the things New Orleans people overrate, parkway’s shrimp po boy is the most overrated.

It's better than the Parkway roast beef. That thing is as dry as a 65 year old prostitute, so I'm told.

Nope, ingredients and actually filling the poboy doesn't happen in Baton Rouge.

This. 100%

You will inexplicably downvoted to hell for this, but you are absolutely correct. There is not a more overrated restuarant by this board than this one.

There are only so many ways to elevate a shrimp po boy. Parkway happens to check every box and they put out a consistent product. You cannot go in with crazy expecatations, it's just a shrimp poboy

In the late 2000s, Save-More Grocery North side of LSU used to have some jam up poboys...don't know if they are still making them...

Haven’t been in years but they used to absolute load you up with shrimp.

Walk Ons loads you up as well but the bread is not great.

Man you are shite outta luck in BR for a real New Orleans style Shrimp Poboy. There are some decent ones, but not the same. The issue in BR is they try to use shrimp that are too big, not cooked enough and not enough of them (you can count them). The bread is typically not even French Bread. My gold standard is Kenner Seafood. Small, crispy fried Shrimp that are falling out all over the place with proper French Bread.

I love Eliza, but Jed's have been very hit or miss. Almost every time I've gone I've had to request either more mayo/sauce/etc for the poboy. They seem to serve them very dry for some reason.

Poboy express is horrible...

no it isnt... it is on par with danny and clydes.... serviceable for a fast poboy.
