I live in the Coursey and Jones Creek area. I've been to 2 restaurants where I ordered a shrimp poboy. At both places I unwrapped the paper and found that there were no loose shrimp resting alongside the poboy. Like most folks that have had a Parkway Bakery poboy know that when you unwrap the paper there are at least a dozen loose shrimp in the paper and, of course, well loaded on the french bread.

Is there a place around here that has a similar poboy?

cmon man! I've had some great client lunches at Phil's lately.

OP, I'm probably gonna get some downvotes, but I love Poboy Express. Great bread and they load you up with shrimp.

Most don't have shrimp spilling out of the side but Jed's, Willies, Heads and Tails, Jasmines and Dempseys all make a good shrimp poboy to me. I'm probably forgetting a few.

Capital City Crawfish on Government behind Superior Grill has an overstuffed shrimp poboy. Not exactly close to you though.

The shrimp poboy there is trash though and has been been the opposite of stuffed. Maybe I’ve just had bad luck. I even made JP throw me some more one time when he was managing

Nope, ingredients and actually filling the poboy doesn't happen in Baton Rouge.

PoBoy Express is better than it gets credit for

I went to JED's when it first opened and was not impressed, maybe I need to give it another try since they've had time to work out the kinks.

Haven't been to Rocco's in years but used to go when they had the LSU location.

Mike's Poboys in Gonzales is a hole in the wall place not many know about. Similar to PoBoy Express.

Sausage poboy at Griffin Grill is pretty good.

Baton Rouge has pretty substandard food for being an hour away from NOLA, 30 mins from Lafayette, etc...
