Is there a more unhealthy ingredient/food item than HFCS?

Type 2 diabetes is running rampart across the country and obviously high fructose corn syrup is the primary reason for it.

Personally, I find it to be more risky than any else I can consume, including high cholesterol foods.

Trying to pin the entire obesity epidemic on a single food additive is retarded.

I guess you would be horrified by the boiled shrimp and cocktail sauce I ate this weekend.

Eat meat/fat/awesomeness. LINK

Eating "high" cholesterol foods will help you. Eating a mostly fat and zero/very low carb diet will reverse type 2 diabetes. This is fact LINK

You are correct in your fear of HFCS, avoid it like the plague. Eat meat and drink wine to your heart's content. You most likely can handle it before the wine does any harm. Be happy, you know sugar kills, so avoid it. Beer, starches, breads, most chocolates...avoid. There is nothing wrong with meat, eggs, bacon, non-starchy vegs, wine, bourbon. You won't gain weight on this.

You would be wrong. It isn't simply overeating aka calories.

While diabetes is in fact caused by high GI foods, HFCS is right up there with every other form of sugar in terms of how bad it is for you, including sugar, agave syrup, apple juice concentrate, etc. Not to mention natural high GI foods like white potatoes and watermelon.

So no, HFCS is not the actual enemy of diabetics. It's sugar (and easily digested starches more generally). But the obesity epidemic outside of diabetes is caused by overeating calories of any kind. That's been shown time and time again. Most people just eat more calories than they burn on a daily basis and gain weight over time. Eating just 150 calories a day over what you burn will have you gain something on the order of 20lbs in a year.

Here's the truth
Fat Americans consume more calories than they burn
Either cut the calories or increase the exercise
It's not corn syrup

It's the fatties that drive in their fattie SUVs to SAMs and Costco and buy pre made frozen meals that have 1500 cals per person and still stop at the food counter to get a slice of jumbo pizza with a 32oz coke for the ride home

Man I need to give this up again. I had stopped for 10 years and got back into it with good craft beers and it is making me a tad overweight.

Well at least Costco has the automated defibrillator on the wall next to their food counter for the people who eat in.

Not one person, on Earth nor history, can regulate 150 calories (I've heard even less at 40 calories per day). Congratulations, you just tried to solve a biological problem (obesity) with a physics solution - energy in vs energy out. LINK LINK. But, I mean, all calories are made equal LINK... I mean, it was know in the 1950s that calories really didn't matter LINK. What you ate mattered more. It just isn't that simple. Even Kevin Hall, a big Low Carb doubter, inadvertently proved this in the NUSI funded study even though he tried to say otherwise LINK

The energy in vs energy out physics problem does NOT belong in a biological equation.

I blame it on beer too, but deep down I know what I ordered for lunch.

Save it for Saturdays.

I'm doing that this Fall.
One day of beer a week.

Not just HFCS, any sugar product in general. HFCS, sugar, 'organic' cane sugar, turbinado sugar, honey, fruit juices, dextrose etc etc.. It's in everything.

Dietary cholesterol ingestion plays little to no role in your blood cholesterol level.

I love internet nutrition experts. Why they don't have y'all speak at the Obesity Society conference, I'll never know.
