It’s really good for what it is, IMO. I’d never spend the time or money to make a sub like they make at my house. I usually get the cheesesteak or the club sub. I haven’t eaten at subway once since the JM opened down the road from our house. I’d rank it up there with Lenny’s, but there is only one Lenny’s left here in the Jackson area (Clinton) and I rarely get down that way.

If these were next door to each other, you'd regularly see me standing between them like an idiot trying to make up my mind. Different, but equally good. I could eat it every day for a quick lunch.

It's a darn shame there aren't more Lenny's around. Their bacon is perfect for sandwiches.

Think outside the box and substitute pepperoni for bacon on the #8 or #9. Also recommend the cherry pepper relish on their cold sandwiches.

Lenny’s

Has become my favorite sandwich place. I'd buy the hell out of their spicy relish.

Lenny’s

There was a Lenny’s and a Jersey Mike’s within two blocks of each other where I used to live. Think it was 2016-2017. Anyway, they were very, very similar. The only real difference was that Lenny’s had salads, a hot Italian sandwich, and a meatball sandwich, whereas Jersey Mike’s didn’t.

I like both places, but Lenny’s is closing locations while Jersey Mike’s is expanding. Also, Jersey Mike’s has been around much longer.

I like Jersey Mikes ok and it's definitely superior to Subway

People dislike JJ for some reason, which I don't really get. Even in Atlanta they're all spotless, fast, and everything seems fresh and decent quality. If the knock on JJs is that it's very, very boring I get that, but I'll take that when it comes to fast food/subs.

That’s interesting. I’d never heard of Jersey Mike’s before about 3-4 years ago, while we had Lenny’s all over the place here in the Jackson area. I guess it was a regional thing. In the meantime, the Lenny’s are all but gone and the JMs are popping up all over the place. I like both, but I didn’t know that JM had been around longer before you said so.

I eat at both Jersey Mikes and Jimmy Johns regularly so obviously I like them both.

I actually like Jimmy Johns better by a very small margin.

More people seem to prefer Jersey mikes though

That's good to hear. The Jersey style sub is still something I seek out on nyc trips.

cheesesteak is microwaved

I think people would be shocked to know how often microwaves were used in commercial kitchens.

Though the worst use I've ever seen in my entire life, was Shuck-ems in Panama City. They advertised baked oysters done 10 ways. I got a style with cheese. Upon arrival I noted cheese melted the my plastic tray and the oysters weren't hot. I look in kitchen then had a wall of microwaves. They "baked" oysters in the microwave. Disgusted me for some reason.
