I like my meatloaf trashy with ketchup on top.
My wife hates meatloaf. It's not her most endearing quality.

I’ve never understood people that adamantly refuse to eat meatloaf. I once watched a friend who loathes the stuff, eat a burger patty with ketchup on it with a fork. I just stared in bewilderment.

I'm probably 85% carnivore. I love meat, but I have to say, I don't really think I've had good meatloaf. It's just not appetizing to me. I'd rather just a plain burger.

You don’t eat: deli ham, deli turkey, smoked sausage, fresh sausage, hot dogs, salami, processed chicken nuggets, the McRib, or meatballs?
Can't speak for the other poster, but I rarely eat deli cold cuts. I do eat bacon and Canadian bacon. I will also occasionally eat salami as part of a charcuterie board.
Processed chicken nuggets are disgusting as is the McRib.
Meatballs can be good, but when they venture too close to meatloaf consistency, I'll pass.

Memories of meatloaf . Cranking him up with my Kenwood CD player and Rockford fosgate speakers .

Smoked with BBQ sauce and I’m listening, tonight. :)

You just haven't met the right girl yet.
For some reason, I love A1 on meatloaf.

Last one I did, I used Heinz 57 sauce on it as my glaze. Was delightful.

I know what to have my wife add to next week's menu. I freaking love meatloaf.

I'm not a big fan of ketchup in general and that includes on meatloaf. Now a little ketchup added as a part of the sauce can be OK.
My mom made a not entirely traditional meatloaf growing up my family always enjoyed. The sauce was a base of tomato paste (with other stuff) instead of just ketchup. By the time it finished cooking there was a thick semi caramelized glaze on top and basically a tomato gravy all around. The loaf itself (or maybe it was the sauce) had horseradish in it which gave it a unique flavor. Always make it with mashed potatoes so you can throw the tomato gravy on top. I've got the recipe around somewhere if anyone is interested.
Costco has an ok meatloaf. Good enough for an easy dinner but not their best pre prepared meal.
I think a lot of folk who don't like meatloaf just had a bad meatloaf growing up and there's sort of a pop culture stigma about it that turns people off. There's also quite a few ways to make it that may or may not be to everyone's preference. Smoked meatloaf sounds interesting though.

See though, this is kind of the point I was trying to make. It's just not a good dish if so many variations of it are bad.
You can have a bad steak or a bad hamburger, but you rarely, if ever, see a consensus of "hamburgers are bad" or "steak is bad". You do see that consensus with meatloaf.

I don't need my meat formed into any shape except a patty.
I sure as shite don't want ketchup on top of meat formed into a loaf.
he does not like his meat in shapes,
He has no time for beefy japes,
Not in a rectangle or square,
For that, you see, he doesn’t care,
Would he like it in a star?
A cylinder, perhaps a jar?
Would he eat meatloaf from a can?
Or made into the shape of man?
Would he eat it with a knife?
Would he eat it with a wife?
Oh meat in shapes is fun you see!
Oh won’t you try it UPT!?
You can eat it in a block.
You can stuff it like a sock,
Like a sausage in a case,
You can eat a scary face
It’s fun to shape your meat you see!
Oh please come join us UPT!
If you eat burgers then you’ve found,
You’re eating on a shape that’s round!
So meat with angles can’t be bad!
Meatloaf’s awesome! Ask your dad!
In a square, or in a ball,
It doesn’t matter, not at all!
You don’t reject a square of cheese,
Just take a bite, oh pretty please!

Italian meatloaf
I love this recipe for Italian meatloaf. It's basically a big ole meatball. It's great on a hoagie

I actually had Meatloaf the night he died without knowing he passed.
Mien is pretty simple:
Meat
Egg
Slice of bread or bread crumbs
A little milk
Garlic
Salt and pepper.
Sometimes I brush Some bbq sauce on top. Sometimes I dont.
Usually pretty good.
I love The meatloaf at lamberts in foley.
