If by yourself, tough to beat being able to sit at the bar at Chimes with a good draft beer selection and pretty good fried seafood.

I work off 190 - agree with you on both places.
Breakfast - Liz's Where Y'at Diner in Mandeville and Abita Roasting Company in downtown are my two go-to's.
Dinner - Bunch of Options - Lola, Meribo, New Orleans Food and Spirits, Sweet Daddy's BBQ in downtown. McClain's, Nuvolari's, The Beach House on the lakefront.

Coffee Raini if near Downtown Covington. Mattina Bella is ok as well. Some better choices are Crazy Pig (Madisonville) which is pretty close to Covington. Liz's if you want to go all the way to Mandeville is probably the most popular place in the area.

If you want a Sunday Brunch and like to spend $, Forks and Corks or Oxlot 9.

Depends on what kind of food you like and how much you want to spend.

In to pretty much anything. Price doesn't matter as long as it's good food.

Nicer

Lola
Forks and Corks
Del Porto -

Mid Range

Meribo (Pizza Italian, but usually has some seafood/protein dish)

There's also some local seafood/steak type places like Gallagher's and DiMartinos but I've never been to those spots. There's also some sandwichy/burger/seafoody local places like the Abita Brew Pub and Blind Tiger (usually seafood only for entrees).

Toad Hollow
Aki
Pho Cong
Sawasdee Thai

Theo’s Neighborhood Pizza was really good
Just decided to stop there on our way out of town so there may be better food in the area but will stop by next time I am out that way

New Orleans Food and Spirits

I’ve never had a bad meal there. It’s now our go to spot for date night with my wife. Get the Voodoo rolls as an appetizer. You’ll thank me. They’re actually enough for a meal but, perfect for two people to share.

I see now.

Nuvolari's - Old school Northshore Italian, Mandeville.

Gallagher’s Grill (Covington) or Pat Gallagher's 527 Restaurant (Mandeville)

Trey Yuen, old school Mandeville Chinese, not insanely good but cool place overall.

Impastato’s Wine Cellar - between Mandeville and Madisonville, new-ish but very nice and good Italian.

Dinner - Meribo.

Not super expensive, but beautiful restaurant and all items are made in-house.

Either of Gallagher’s restaurants
Keith Young’s in Madisonville
Coffee Rani for lunch: Great scenery of soccer moms
Northshore Empress for excellent Chinese
Abita Brew Pub has excellent food; I’m not keen on their beers, however.
You can’t leave without hitting up Sal n Judy’s in Lacombe.
Rusty Pelican is always quality.

Hambone in Old Mandeville

The Anchor on the river in Madisonville. It’s pretty new but the few times I’ve been, the food has been solid.

Been 3x. Never had a memorable meal there. I feel they try way too hard and miss the mark. Place is always empty not sure how they’re still open.
