Has anyone tried an impossible burger? The nearest places to BR serving them are in Shreveport and Bay St. Louis.

Looks like something I see around here called "Beyond Meat". I haven't tried it yet.

Looks like there is a place in VA Beach that sells it

$13 for a fake meat burger...it might be impossible for me to justify

A guy I know by the name of Ethan Brown started and runs Beyond Meat. Lives in my neighborhood and his office is right down the street from mine. Still haven't tried it though. Probably never will.
Has some big time investors though.

Saw one the other day advertised but didnt really know what it was.

After looking at how its made, nothing like eating overly processed foods with an ungodly amount of salt in them

One of my friends started a vegan facebook group to share recipes and all of that jazz

I quit the group because it was so heavily dominated by processed food like fake chicken nuggets

I don't mind vegetarian dishes, even though I am carnivorous. I am not going to pay extra for fake meat, though... If you're going to go through all that trouble to try to replicate meat, why not eat the real deal?

Im assuming most vegans that are eating this crap is because of animal cruelty and big meat processing companies being evil.

It cant be for health benefits

Beyond Meat".

The beyond burgers are quite good. Not Wagyu or some super 50/50 ground combo, but they are pretty damn good. My wife is an animal lover, so she tries not to purchase much meat. I have had them 1/2 a dozen times are so. Never been let down.

Not liking the idea of animals being mass murdered is a decent enough reason. I still eat meat, but I can totally understand why that would be odd-putting

Hopdoddy's has the impossible burger and it is damn good. Beyond Burger is a small bit less good but still good. They do have shitty ingredients so I don't eat them that often. Now the reason we veggies eat "fake" meat is most of us were raised eating meat so to eat a burger is part of our psychological inheritance.

I like how they claim it uses less land and food to produce and that can somehow fix 3rd world hunger.

If third worlders want to eat what I eat they should work as hard as i do

I tried it a few weeks ago... the taste is mehhhh but the texture is pretty incredible. It’s juicy like a burger and bleeds when you cut into it.. if you’re a vegetarian, it’ll be a nice change of pace but if you eat meat it will disappoint.

Each his own. I tried the beyond burgers and it’s tasted like a bottle of liquid smoke. Weirdest chemical taste and I’m not at all sensitive to that.

Disappointed because I only tried it due to the praise.
