What y'all got? Do have kids so nothing really fancy.
Been so long since I've eaten out here, not really into the chains want something Houstonians enjoy.
Thanks

My favs for Tex Mex would be Ninfa's on Navigation and then El Tiempo. However, I've noticed El Tiempo seems to have fallen off lately because they've opened so many new places but it's still good. Hugo's is great but more traditional and higher end, Mexican fare.
Wild Card...Hmmm... What were you thinking? I find myself most often at gastropub-type places like Petrol Station and Cottonwood both have great beer selections and good food. The burgers at petrol station are top notch for anywhere.

What the hell did I do to you? I didn't notice the kids part so sue me. It's in my neighborhood and I go there for a beer and a meal on occasion because I can practically walk to it. It's got hipsters, sure, but a few fugly hats and tats won't keep me from things I like. Thanks for the input though, I'll make a note of it.

Well sounds like I'll try El Tiempo.
Wildcard I was just thinking a good luck place, not fancy or crazy crowded, nice but but dressy (or could be counter service) by the aquarium, zoo or museums would be a plus. Have the city pass.

El Tiempo & Ninfas on Navigation have let me down on my last couple trips. I would recommend Lopez Mexican . Its an older joint, so certainly not fancy.... But really good.
One of my buds that recommended it to me also recommended Tampico Seafood good stuff.
Im in Houston working almost weekly....been hitting Local Foods in Rice Village often. Good sandwich shop. Torchy's Tacos is there, too.

I'm actually agreeing with you
Last time I was there, I overheard a baby daddy ask someone to "watch his language because his child was near."

There are several Torchys. "All crap now because it's a chain.....blah blah blah....."
You are downtown?
I always tell people about Springbok. South African Sports Bar???
Cool place. Good beer selection and cocktails. Good food and odd foods. Regular stuff too. But has a lot of stuff with South African twists on them.

Carnitas at El Tiempo is the best TexMex fish I've ever eaten.
