Going to a cabin in a couple of weeks. The wife wants to cook all meals over the fire. Breakfast is easy, looking forlunch, brunch, supper suggestions. Tia

If you want to really impress her, only cook what you catch/kill.
But really, the obvious would be chicken or steaks. You can also rake some coals out of the flame and put some fish wrapped in aluminum foil and herbs too

I went backpacking with a Scout group. Somebody thought it would make sense to fix Hamburger Helper using Vienna Sausages as the meat.
Try that.

What equipment will you have? A cast iron skillet, a Dutch oven/spider (the pot w legs so you can put coals beneath), etc? Campfire cooking depends largely on your batterie de cuisine.
With a Dutch oven w legs and a rimmed lid, you can make biscuits, bread, etc.
Foil packets are a great idea, and so are foil wrapped potatoes and sweet potatoes.
A great resource for open fire cooking is this book: Cooking with Fire, by an archaeologist who has spent lots of time on remote digs: LINK
Great book, with practical tips about constructing fires, and recipes.

You can also wrap up some nice baking potatoes and bury them under coals to cook. As a kid my cousins and I would camp along the Miss. River and cook things over the camp fire, or under it in the case of potatoes.

Get a grill like this
I cook on one of these every time I go camping. Super easy. Folds flat. Cool food directly on there or set a skillet or pot on top.

Just went canoeing on the buffalo last week for 5 days. This is the only thing we cooked on for every meal. It’s a pot, skillet, grill, Dutch, etc all in one. It’s 30# but very versatile. And even taking it down the river in a canoe it was worth the weight.
Sous Vide a lot of steaks a head of time which cuts down on the amount of fuel you need wether you use propane, wood, etc.
Premade side dishes in aluminum containers from Chris’ specialty meats, Maxwells work great.

Check out Kent Rollins. He does a lot of outdoor and cast iron cooking.

Kent Rollins cooks on old Bertha his 375lb wood oven. It’s a beast and he’s fun to watch. He has a couple of cooking classes he and his wife put on and your accommodations are teepees.

If you want I can’t give you my Dutch oven in the ground apple pie recipe.
Also, over a fire cooking begs for chili or stew to be made.

We have "pie makers" from Academy that we put bread, powdered sugar and either cherry or apple pie filling in. Great dessert along with smores

One of those and a flanged lid Dutch oven and you can do anything.
OP....A few things I do over the fire:
Teriyaki marinated tri tip strips
Bbq chicken
Lobster tails (cover with pan)
Burgers
Fish wrapped in foil
oysters
I have 2 Dutch ovens. 1 for meals, a smaller one for desserts. A wealth of info is at justdutchovenrecipes.com.
Sometimes I eat better on the road than I do at home and I eat pretty good. Cooking is my favorite part of camping.
