Let me give y'all a bit of demographics here. His business is right up against North Bridgedale which has very established homes and a mix with a LOT of older folks. Same on the other side of Clearview.

Love the idea, just needs better execution.

Like it or not the goal should not be to offend when in the restaurant business, especially where he is located. Margins are tight in that business.

Maybe I started that and chose a poor adjective. I am not offended by it, nor am I amused. Agree that, in a way, it’s gross.

I was not referencing that. More the older crowd that has gone in there and commented to him.

I don't think anyone in this thread really gives a shite if his food is good. I usually get takeout anyway.

Initially, I thought this was a troll thread when I saw the mural. It’s bad. It’s nauseating. Your burgers would have to be darn good for me to look at that while I ate. Like out of this world.

look at this old geezer acting like an old geezer. I think its funny. Don't let these baby boomers give you a hard time. They hate everything anyways.

The photo in the OP isn't "fun" to me. As others have said, it's not that it's offensive, it's just gross. My first thought was "yuck" and it made me picture someone throwing up.

Your first thought wasn't the iconic burger and pepper scene from an iconic comedy movie? Have you seen it? How is that not "fun?"

This thread is eye opening.

Eh when I go at night I don't really consider the customers to be "established"

The place is bad arse though. I would never go to buds again after eating there.

Yes it is.

I didn't realize that humor designed for 13 year old boys was now iconic.

That and the over-generalizations of whole groups of people. Truly one of the lowest form of argument. Shows an inability to have actual discussions without insults.

I guess the fact that Dumb and Dumber is a classic and was/is quite popular proves it can be, using your condescending definition.

Why did you post this to me? Did I do any of that? Your passive aggressive insult was closer to doing this than anything I said.

You sound irrationally upset. This must be how you show you want an actual discussion without insults.

I don't care about the name calling. It's amusing and removes credibility instantly, but I'll add that geezers have money, too, and not everyone considers the movie a "classic" in their minds.

The OP is a business owner trying to do something different and catchy, which is a neat idea. However, he is receiving some mixed responses to his initial effort, so he inquired. He received more mixed responses here even to the extent of name calling. He has to look at those and his demographics etc... and decide what's best for his business. Some folks may see changing it as a bending from the principle of the issue, but when your livelihood depends on clientele, you sometimes have to make business choices you'd rather not make. You may also decide to take the risk and see what happens.

No. My apologies

I don't think it was passive agressive. I think it was only agressive. Should have been directed at the ones making the generalizations though.

Usually how it goes. Like you said, this doesn’t play in Metry w that demo

That other painting is pretty bad arse. Just do something more neutral on the other wall. I wouldn’t even advertise the change on social media as it’s a cesspool of thoughts and usually mentally draining for a biz owner

Create a scene using the local high school mascots or something. Get creative and incorporate them in there. Yeah it’s lame but that’s the world we live in. Everyone won’t love what you do

And then Dan Stein post an ad with his arse hanging out that Where Ya At bounced back to him and said nogo.

But, he can get by with it.

Your food is solid. I like the new hot sausage. I hope you stay there a long time. And I like the new cow mural on the other wall.

I'll throw my hat in the ring for rotating art work. Food related movie murals is a cool idea. I'd consider that. Dumb and Dumber is one of my all time favorite movies, but my mom and my wife wouldn't understand the point. Neither would my grandparents.

Also, old people are stupid as frick little cry babies, as evidenced by this thread and yelp, but there's a bunch of them around your place and you don't want to piss them off.

Rotating artwork is a great way to save face and to get people talking.
