Yay I’m going back to Paris after five years of Covid bullshite/Bidenomics. I’ve lost touch but have a few places I loved back then ( Au Bon Accueil, Willie’s Wine Bar). Any more current recommendations would be appreciated. Leave in two weeks.

BTW flights are cheap now. Round-trip $550.

Try the hot roast beef poboy, dressed, at La Pastime.

ETA: why in the blue hell did we get thrown out of that other place?

My Mom is from France and when we went to visit family on my last trip there, they brought us to Chez Janou. It was absolutely amazing.

You mentioned Willi's Wine Bar.
We really enjoy that place. We started going there years ago, shortly after there was an article about it in Wine Spectator Magazine. It was the hottest ticket in town back then.
We have a tradition that we go there, at least to drink wine at the bar, on our first night in Paris.
The last time I ate there was on the night of April 15, 2019. We had a late dinner after watching the fire at Notre Dame right from the beginning.

It does not get rave reviews for adventurous food like it used to, but it is still one of my favorite hangouts.

Here is what we have been doing -
Go to Willi's for pre-dinner drinks then go around the corner to Juvenile's for dinner. It is a small, casual bistro, but the food is outstanding.

I will be following this thread for new ideas because we will be going back in April.

I focused on dinner and lunch places because you can get a good Café crème & croissant anywhere in Paris.

Les Cocottes

Robert et Louise

Bistrot Paul Bert

Le Chateaubriand

Le Verre Volé

Au Passage

Le Wepler

Septime

Clamato

I'm going over Thanksgiving, just curious where you are seeing this:

What dates/routes is this for?

Love Le Chateaubriand, Septime (went before they got their stars) and Clamato on that list.

Bedides Willi's, the other one you mentioned was Au Bon Accuil. That is another excellent upscale gourmet bistro. Some of my other favorites in that area are
Chez L'Ami Jean
La Fontaine de Mars, and
Josephine Chez Dumonet.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions they are very helpful. I also love Chez L'Ami Jean- their escargot is outstanding as well as their foie gras.

This is a great time of year for Paris travel- cheap flights, small crowds, no lines, cool drizzly weather (is romantic IMO).

I never seem to get good deals on airline tickets but it somehow worked this time 11/8-11/12. Before the Thanksgiving masses.
