Was in R&K in the Straya building? I don't remember that. Could have been before my time.

Can you make them just like they did?
It's certainly not difficult to make hush puppies.

French Quarter location trout almondine was my go to. Wish I had a plate right now.
We always went to mandinas back in the day. My mom wouldn’t order anything but trout almondine.

One of my favorite date night places in the mid-late 90s. Seemed so opulent with all the mirrors everywhere.

The last time I went to the one in BR on Bluebonnet the food was pretty bad.

how’s the one in Lufkin doing?
Every time we drive through Lufkin, it looks dead.

it was a special treat to drive down from Natchez for shopping at Cortana, Children's Palace, then hit R&Ks before heading home.

miss the OG Don's Seafood on Airline in BR.
Saw Ned Beatty there when he was in town filming “The Toy”.

Drive over to mobile and eat some garbage.
Went there once when it first opened. Bunch of frozen imported junk .

Cornmeal and a few other things.
Don't ruin the nostalgia for me.

Their first BR location was on Airline Hwy around Prescott almost directly across from Don's.
Thats what I remembered but then thought I was confusing it with Dons.

I worked at that location as a manager in the early 90s.

Fried shrimp or anything au gratin... Ralph & Kacoo's was a special place when I was young.

I used to work at a business down Bluebonnet and all of the out-of-towners always wanted to go eat R&K. There were multiple instances of food poisoning, one of which landed a person in the hospital.
It went to shite at some point, but the old timers sure loved the murder mystery theater nights.

As previously mentioned, the true first location was on False River in Oscar, LA. It was opened by Ralph and Kacoo Olinde.

Prime R&Ks for me was the 1980s stuffed soft shell crawfish wrapped in bacon covered in hollandaise sauce with stuffed potato and salad.
