Due to a series of unfortunate events I was stuck with a few pieces of frozen salmon and a single unseasoned cast iron pot. The only oil I had available was my dog's salmon oil supplement that arrived in a Chewy order. Didn't feel like waiting on the oven. Honestly, it wasn't that bad.

At least you made the decision to cook something. To me a culinary low is eating soup, stew, or hash out of a can without even heating it up, even when a source of heat is available.

Our culinary low/glutton moment is late at night when the kids are in bed and we realized we still havent eaten, sometimes we'll put a bunch of tortilla chips on a plate, cover them in mexican shredded cheese and make microwave nachos.

they're pretty good considering

I was once told by a Hispanic room mate that these are "sad white people nachos"

My kids would eat this 5 nights a week if I would let them

Throw some hot sauce on them and you got yourself some fine eating.

So you risked using fish oil to cook with as opposed to just waiting 10 minutes for the oven to reheat?

In that situation I'm probably ordering a pizza or getting fast food.

I do this frequently with Wolf brand chili.

The only risk was the flavor being too strong to be palatable

This is a low? This was a favorite snack of mine as a teen and still put a plate together once a year or so for old time's sake.

Yeah there's nothing wrong with those nachos.

I hit my culinary low last night.. out of shredded cheese, and the only cheese ingredient I had available was a jar of Rao's alfredo sauce. I microwaved a bowl of the sauce and dipped tortilla chips in the Alfredo Sauce.. not too bad

I like this thread because on this board there are some fantastic cooks and yet we all still do sht like this Hahhahahaha

For me it’s a fully dressed fish stick burger or loose ground meat on pizza rolls (stuffed ravioli) hahahha and I very much enjoy both.

I eat a plate or 2 of sad white people nachos probably a couple of times a year.

I've always said that I don't judge people for what they eat. Turns out, I'm a liar. Earlier today I saw a guy grab a cup of fried popcorn shrimp from the Walmart deli section. Judged the frick out of that baw.
