I hit my culinary low last night.. out of shredded cheese, and the only cheese ingredient I had available was a jar of Rao's alfredo sauce. I microwaved a bowl of the sauce and dipped tortilla chips in the Alfredo Sauce.. not too bad
For a while I lived in a crappy apartment without a washer and dryer. It happened to be closer to my uncle’s duck camp than any other family. Every few weeks in the off season I’d wander out to the camp and spend the night and do laundry.
I had a ton of meals like this trying to come up with something out of the shite left in the pantry over the summer.

Our culinary low/glutton moment is late at night when the kids are in bed and we realized we still havent eaten, sometimes we'll put a bunch of tortilla chips on a plate, cover them in mexican shredded cheese and make microwave nachos.
this is no culinary low, it is called culinary improvisation. Staple of my college years, and wonderful when binging on Netflix.
P.S. don't forget the jalapenos.
P.P.S. if you happen to have some left over taco meat throw that on there as well

I was once told by a Hispanic room mate that these are "sad white people nachos"
I class it up by putting some cracker barrel sharp cheese that i shred, some bacon bits, and a few splashes of crystal peppers in hot vinegar. I used to make it when i was a kid in high school. Still occasionally make it at the house.
