Convection oven and maybe air fryer (don't have one since the oven has convection setting) can revive most fried foods. Don't know if that would make leftover Cane's any better. Never been there.

This site, in general hates everything. And there are a lot of "followers". if the right person says they hate something, all of the followers join in.

Most of these Cane's haters eat Cane's but, won't admit it.

Then don’t eat it. Cook three chicken fingers at home and tell me what that cost? Grease alone will drown you. The product is good and reasonable in today’s world. Don’t like it don’t do it.

I hate Cane's almost always soggy fries. They are terrible.

I would have thought that you might have more sophisticated tastes than to try to white knight for bland assed chicken fingers. Have you had different results with leftover Canes? Do people clamor to take them home with them if there are leftovers. You are just arguing to argue.

I feel like you directed this comment at the wrong person.. All I did was ask you a question about parties.

I like Canes for a change of pace, but you gotta eat it there. Their fries to go get soggy.

Fair point. If you get the drive thru, it’s literally raining in the box by the time you get home.

This is what they advertise:

And this is what you get.

I'm not a tender guy, but have gotten tenders at Popeyes and BlueStore just to compare. Canes is better IMO. I'll eat Cane's maybe 2-3x a yr since service is quick.

The pictures look better than the real thing in most restaurants who advertise.

FTR, the cole slaw doesn't look anything like what's in the "advertise" photos either.

I would have no problems dipping those "this is what you get" tenders in the sauce and devouring them.

for me personally, its because i remember when canes was still a baton rouge only franchise with 2 locations. the quality of product and bang for buck has plummeted since then.

its hard for me to not compare it to what it use to be.

Anyone who thinks Cane's is the goat did not experience Cane's in it's first 10-15 years. The prices have doubled within the last few years. I get that, inflation and all.

The quality, apart from the tender size, is still fairly high. Customer service, speed and cleanliness is still up there.

They order chicken tenders specifically based upon size. They used to serve "jumbo" (or whatever the term is) and now they serve low-middle tier sized tenders. The tender size is why I only eat canes a couple times a year, usually when travelling.

The sogginess of the food has been a problem since day one. If you don't eat the food within 10 minutes it'll be soggy. They use bags with holes cut in them now to try and let the steam escape, but it doesn't help much.

The sauce is great. Wife found the exact recipe online and makes it when we make chicken finger at home. Canes sauce is good if you like sauce for your crawfish boils (I don't).

Stumbling out of Retroactive at the Varsity and walking over to Canes when it first opened in the 90s was awesome. I swear they must have been sprinkling crack on the chicken back then.

I will admit, they make pretty decent chicken nuggets.

Counterpoint:

I don't understand why Canes is so popular. It's marginally better (if at all) than like 50 other chicken tender places. I don't dislike it mind you, I just don't know why it's considered to be on an entirely different level.

Super Chix îs considerably better IMO, granted it's closer to true fast casual.

in the beginning it was fast, cheap and good. Also service was and is head and shoulders above most fast food places.

some of that may have changed over time.

Off the Hook provides a way better product. Bigger, tastier chicken and they have fried green beans which are awesome!

But my kids love Canes and it is one of the few places that is open late after high school football games.

I've never seen a thread with so many people who think that restaurant is just food and labor cost
