"foodie" is a harmless term. I guess it can mean different things to different people. But R2R, don't be a dick, dude.

Foodie is sort of like hipster. It doesnt really mean anything any more. Basically, by most accounts, Ella Brennan and Emeril came up with a word to describe the customers who 30 years ago were really into food. Nowadays, many more people are interested in food, but a generation ago, only a few people really cared about food.

So basically being not a foodie is probably the classification of people who need to be labeled now.

Anyone who proclaims to be a foodie is about as much fun to be around as a hemmeroid.

I had no idea that the term foodie was such a negative thing. I'm a self proclaimed foodie. I get along with other foodies and non-foodies as well. To me, the term foodie represents someone who delves whole heartedly into the culinary arts, be it practicing in the kitchen, studying the craft in general, or experiencing different cuisines and restaurants. I'm fascinated by food. I am a foodie.

Paul, what's your opinion on the caller that's a truck driver? I think he's a rambling buffoon.

And the horn sound effect is amazing. Tom dug deep for that radio greatness,

I don't like the word foodie, and I don't like these people creating lines/waits at places I like to go.

I'm not a fan of Clark the gourmet truck driver. He just rambles and brings nothing to show. I like Daniel the gourmet cellist and Chef Andrea. Peter the gourmet stupid question asker is a jerk.

What single word would you use to replace it?

Thank you. The word has a horrible connotation, but what other word is there for someone who loves food on a different level than "me hungry"?

Who doesn't like food?

I know quite a few people who eat for sustenance and don't really care about the quality of food that they are eating. I don't think I'm better than them because I do, and can get along with both foodies and non-foodies.
