I would like to see something else take it's spot.

I've only had terribly greasy burgers on too soft buns there. I think I gave it 3 tries.

Of course, in typical New Orleans fashion, they think it's the best shite since sliced bread. It never got close to the hype I heard of winning best burger in Nola year after year

Ive been asking myself the same question about the one in Metairie. They must be locked in leases.

We’ve have that just a couple of times (live on the NS) but it was great. What’s the deal?

Atomic Burger had questionable sanitation practices when I went there. I didn't go back.

You have Chick-fil-A to the left and a new Whataburger to the right. Both of them have long lines everytime I pass down Burbank while Atomic Burger is always empty.

I love my CFA, but...

The chicken sandwich beats CFA easy. Both Mild and Nashville Hot.

The shakes are excellent.

Cut and drop crispy fries with garlic sauce.

Jamburger...

Sliders for the kids.

The place is legit.

ETA: Just needs to get it's beer taps hooked up again.

The Whataburger lines are unreal. Looks like an Ida Costco gas line 24X7

I always said a Whataburger by LSU would kill. (No pun intended about that Houston Whataburger murder). I wanted to own a Whataburger by LSU 10+ years ago.

What’s crazy is the McDonald’s is moving right next to them too. Going to be McDonald’s, Wattaburger and Atomic burger all next to each other. Fallowed by the holy grail of course.

Similar fast food restaurants perform better when they’re group together instead of spread out. You don’t want to be by yourself away from the group or you will miss out on most of the traffic.

This is bus dev 101. It’s the same reason Pharmacies open up across the street from each other. It’s the same reason food trucks congregate.

Yep. It's the psychological impact of perceived choice.

If you have a single Coke machine, people look at it as a binary choice of whether they want something from the machine or not.

If you add another machine then it becomes a three-way choice between wanting something from machine A, wanting something from machine B or not wanting anything at all. This is why it's uncommon to see a single Coke machine somewhere, they are usually in at least pairs.

Opening a restaurant right before a pandemic is some really bad luck.

McDonalds is closing the one on Nicholson and the one on Lee after they open the new, larger location a couple of doors down from Atomic Burger.

When they widened Burbank and Lee over the years, they added a curb to inhibit left turns into McDonalds. So they wanted to move to a location with a service street and traffic light.

A good chunk of the north side (basically everything currently without a for sale sign) is owned by the homeowners on Highland. At least a half mile of it is continuous.

Hoping that will act as a buffer, but fear you're right.

Not sure who will have the longest lines in that neighborhood. Whataburger, Cane's, or Chick Fil A. They will all print money that close to campus.

I've never been to Atomic Burger. Is it any good?

Atomic Burger is an ok burger, but they are incredibly slow and expensive, and if they can’t move their line faster, when they have one, they won’t be there much longer.

I’ve been there three times, and if you could get out of the line after ordering, I would have all 3 times, b/c the wait is ridiculous.
