The closing of chocagos famoust and largely overrated hot dog restaurant Hot Dougs raises this question in my mind. I ate ther back in July on a dreary chilly day. Waited in line two hours just to be able to say I went there. People have been waiting in 8 to 12 hour lines there all week. Last night people started lining up for a 14 hour wait for today, the last day of business.

So what's the longest you've ever waited in line? And for what restaurant or food? Was it worth it? What's the longest you would be willing to wait?

The biggest lines in nola I've seen were for chick fil a, Krispy Kreme, galatoires and lines at Jazz fest.

I tailgated for BBQ outside Franklin for just about 4 hours. I had a great experience, so for me the combination of hanging out with 3 buddies, doing a little day drinking, then having amazing BBQ was well worth my time. I have not had the other rival BBQ places in Austin to determine if waiting that long produced the best BBQ in the city, but it sure was damn impressive BBQ.

About 4 hours outside Jacque Imos...was during Jazz Fest, so we just hung out and partied in the street with everyone else. Jacque came out and gave us beers.

I waited two hours for Jacque-Imo's one time, and most recently, waited in line about an hour for LA Barbecue in Austin.

Yeah thats not bad especially during JF. Kind of like the walk to the Dome from my car on Game Day. Just open a beer and it's a party.

My wife and I waited in line there for 3-4 hours. It was fun. We brought folding chairs, watched the people and had a few beers. And there was amazing food waiting for us at the end.
