How do you store garlic?

For years I think I have been doing it all wrong by storing in the refrigerator. Recently I started leaving it out on the counter and I think it lasts longer and has more intense garlic flavor that way. I can’t believe that I have been doing it wrong my whole life. I was just doing what my mama told me.

I leave it in the counter only bc it’s not chilled at the grocery store. Never put any more thought into it...UNTIL NOW!!!!

I've always kept mine on the counter right next to the onions

I have a drawer in my cabinets that has a screened in area cut in the drawer front. In that drawer goes onions, garlic and potatoes and they keep well that way.
When I pull garlic out of my garden in the early summer I'll put it on a large rack to completely dry, the cut off the roots and any dried growth above the bulb. Then it is stored in my shop in a couple of those open grocery hand held baskets or old milk crates.

I have a LeCreuset garlic keeper that keeps it very fresh on the counter.

Except bananas! Those will go brown in a day if put in the fridge; at least they always have for me.

Fresh garlic on the counter. I do keep a small jar of the pre chopped in my fridge though.

I keep kiwi and peaches on the counter too. Apples it depends on the apple to me. Also season...summer I like a fresh crisp cold apple, but winter I dont care as much. Oranges I am usually split 50/50. Sometimes I put them in the fridge, sometimes I dont.

Freezer.
Makes it much easier to peel and slice. Thaws quickly with a press of a knife to mince.
last for months.
Anywhere else and it softens too much to quickly.
But I purchase the big bags of garlic heads.
