No. The l is silent in either meaning. The color itself is the color of the fish.

Fish - Fee-lay
Steak - Fa-lay
Salmon - samon with L silent
When I was working with some northerners from New York with Restaurant Depot, they used to make fun of me for saying filet the way I did. They pronounced it fil-its. I think they also said sal-mon. They also used to make fun of me saying yall. Damn Yankees.

Downvotes from people that don't speak French and/or are just ignorant. That's cool.
I don't think you speak french very well
fille - sounds like "feel" not "fill"
wifi is "wee fee"

Well, the day filet and fille are the same word is the day that your post contradicts mine.

It's hard to argue with people who don't speak French lol. "I" is pronounced like "E" in this case and loads of others.
Fine-"feen"
Chinois-"sheen-wah"
Diose-"dee-ose"
Brioche-"Bree-oash"
Filet-"fee-lay"

I pointed out examples of how the letter i makes a "ee" sound in french
you just don't know french. Which is weird because you came out and said others don't know french.
