Love me a good homemade sandwich.

Im sure al of y’all’s wives make your sandwiches because that’s their job…

But how do you layer?
I hate how the cheese sticks to the bread and mayo. Ones side is usually taken care of because the lettuce and tomato are in the mayo/bread. But I debate where to put the second slice should I add one.

Today (from top to bottom) was bread-mayo-lettuce-tomato-cheese-ham-cheese-ham-mayo-bread.

Don't care for tomatoes on sandwiches so, from bottom:

Bread - Meat - Cheese - Mayo - Lettuce - Bread

Having the lettuce as the top layer prevents the bread mixing with the mayo and sticking to the roof of your mouth.

There should not at any point be a dry slice of bread.

All sandwich construction issues stem from ignoring this rule.

The only thing I get particular about is intentionally NOT putting lettuce, pickles, or tomato on top of each other because they slide around too much when taking massive chomps out of my sandwich

not too concerned most of the time but when a ham sammich is requested cheese is left off for a reason.

this country is obsessed with cheese. it doesn’t have to be on everything. damn bunch of cheese asses.

i just keep it simple

mayo on both slices of bread, then tomato slice lightly salted and pepper (to wake it up) and then lettuce and then your choice of deli turkey, ham, lunch meat, or bacon

also,

FYI -fried lunchmeat is an overlooked delicacy
