Straight up on the rocks? Mixed with Coke or Sprite? A little splash of water? As I’ve gotten older, I just go with ice, whiskey & tiny splash of water.

Depends on the quality of the bourbon.

Premium bourbon is consumed neat, mid tier with an ice cube and anything else should only be used as part of a cocktail.

Depends on the day and the whiskey. If it’s the good stuff on the rocks or neat with a cigar. Other than that I mix up an old fashioned.

My mom used to put that mix in my bottle to get me to sleep.

I recently bought a bottle of Woodford Reserve barrel finish double oak. It’s delicious.

Depends. Everything from out the bottle on isle 4 to mixed into a OF or sazerac. Gone are the days of any soda. Depends on what it is, what is the proof, and how does it drink for that proof regardless of how fancy or not the bottle is.

I almost put that one in this lineup. That's another one I'm very fond of.

Neat or with a big ice cube. Mostly neat though.

Starts off the rocks and gets a little pressed as the ice melts.

Depends on the whisky. I usually keep Old Forester 100 proof for mixing. And some nicer stuff for rocks or neat. Single malt scotch gets an ice cube or two and I let it sit about 5-10 minutes before drinking a double. Mixers are diet cola or ginger ale. Occasionally sprite.
