Hi all. I will be staying at the Lancaster hotel in Houston tomorrow and am looking for a dinner recommendation that is close by. I really like Mexican and sushi, but open to any recommendations. Thanks!

Think there is a Papas Bros Steakhouse right near there which is what I'd go to.

There is a Pappasitos for mexican really close as well.

Pappas Bros Steakhouse is a 5 minute cab ride.

Don't miss an opportunity to eat there.

If there is an El Tiempo in the area, do not miss going there.

Yeah, it's incredible.

Went to the one by the Galleria this past weekend for my wife's birthday. I got the 18oz Ribeye and my wife got the Filet Duo. We shared the au gratin potatoes and the crab mac & cheese. Everything was fantastic as always, I've been a number of times. Throw in a few old fashioned (they make a fantastic one) and you're golden. Can't remember what they gave her for her bday but it was some sort of reeces cup cake or something, great as well.

We hit this place when in Houston visiting the youngest. I find the Italian, seafood and steak are all really good.

For Mexican I like Hugo’s. Fun place with good food. The duck with mole poblano sauce is excellent.

Pappa Bros and Ninfas on Navigation are two really hard to beat suggestions. Any steak at Pappas and the fajitas at Ninfas are both top notch.

Riva's is a fun place to drink at but the food is pretty crappy IMO.

I'd go to The Post if you like options...think hawker stalls.

Wife and I went to Houston last year. Every where we ate was pretty awesome:

Uchi - Sushi
Hugo's - Mexican
The Pit Room - BBQ
Bludorn - New America, French Inspired, Upscale
Ostia - farm to table, rustic

I may be in the minority but I prefer Vic and Anthony's to Pappas. Better appetizers, I think their steaks are better. Pappas has better sides.
