I like all of the Louisiana native sauces but also like Frank's.
It is actually a Louisiana hot sauce (Wikipedia):
quote:
Frank's RedHot's recipe dates to 1896 to the Frank Tea and Spice Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. Owner Jacob Frank would in 1918 contract for the Estilette Pepper Farm in Louisiana where Adam Estilette and Frank became business partners. The two men mixed spices, vinegar, garlic and cayenne peppers and allowed them to age, and created the original blend of Frank's RedHot as it first appeared on the market in 1920.

Louisiana and Crystal are 1 and 1a for me.
I also always have a variety of habernero hot sauces as well as a few Mexican ones. Also, have a couple of Asian hot sauces in the house.

This.
I grew up in N.I. on Tabasco but I grew to dislike the vinegar taste. Switched to Srirachi two years ago and use a LOT of it.

tabasco sucks
I agree for the most part. I do use it as a component of my wing sauce to kick it up. Except for that, I never, ever use it.
i use it on eggs every now and then. but that's it

Tobasco has stood me a good stead. But I like vinegary stuff, sour pickles, etc. I actually use it in lieu of salt on most things.

I like the vinegar taste in Tabasco, also. I use a lot of different sauces. I really like Butcher's hot sauce and I especially like the sweet potato habanero hot sauce Butcher makes, but only for certain dishes.

Have them all at home. bourques and crystal get most use
Bourque's is good. Not sure who bottles it, but it seemed better than most of the private label sauces that are bottled by bulk sauce companies.
